Dhi: The Wisdom Within
Dhi explores the ancestral wisdom and sensory perceptions that shape the human soul as it journeys across internal and external universes. This performance traverses the intersection of Eastern philosophy and modern science to uncover the fluid essence of what it means to be human.
About the Artists
Nisha Pradeep is a Master of Fine Arts graduate and Doordarshan graded Bharatanatyam artist who has graced prestigious stages including Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She was an Artist-in-Residence with the Arts Council of Princeton and the MODArts Collective in 2026. She is distinguished by her ability to bridge the Indian classical tradition with contemporary advocacy. Her work utilizes the intricate vocabulary of classical Indian dance to explore and give voice to pressing modern socio-political themes, a practice supported by her research and a 2021 Dance NJ Mini Grant. She is also credited with unique collaborations across genres. One of the most notable being the collaboration with Japanese drums with the OMNY Taiko team.
Smt. Sandhya Anand is a dual-talented Carnatic vocalist and violinist known for her technical precision and emotive depth. A 2025 Individual Artist Fellow of the NJ State Council on the Arts, she is a graded artist with All India Radio and Doordarshan. As the founder of the Samskrita Sangitam School of Music, Sandhya brings a wealth of scholarly knowledge and rhythmic mastery to the ensemble, providing a rich melodic canvas for the performance. Mentored by legendary gurus, her musical legacy is defined by a profound understanding of both melodic form and lyrical expression. With over 4,000 concert performances to her credit, Sandhya has graced premier stages worldwide, including the Madras Music Academy, the Kimmel Center, and the Indian Consulates in New York and London. Her versatility shines in her work as both a soloist and a sought-after accompanist for top-tier musicians across generations.
Rucha Jambhekar, is a versatile musician with a powerful voice and an incredible range. Learnt under esteemed gurus like Smt Arati Ankalikar, Shri Appa Indurkar amongst others. She runs a hindustani vocal music school in New Jersey “Svar Naad school of music” in Manalapan where she is nurturing future generations of vocalists. Apart from musical pursuit, Rucha was a physical therapist and decided to hang her coat for her devotion to the art form. She has excelled in prestigious musical conferences throughout India and abroad. A wonderful product of natural talent and guided musical nurture, Rucha remains a humble and self-effacing artist.
