Hi, Solo is a taster’s menu of new performance—ten bold, three-minute solos served up by New Jersey–affiliated movement artists. Originating in Los Angeles in 2015, the series has developed into a sustained platform for artistic experimentation and visibility, presenting over 100 artists under the curatorial direction of co-founders alexx shilling and devika wickremesinghe, followed by Miles Brenninkmeijer and Alexsa Durrans. The inaugural New Jersey iteration will be co-curated by alexx shilling and Marissa Finkelstein and hosted by Mignolo Arts Center, expanding the series’ legacy to a new regional community of artists and audiences. By offering a low-barrier, high-visibility performance opportunity, Hi, Solo supports artists in developing new work, taking creative risks, and connecting with broader audiences.
